What Once Grew is a photography based street installation bringing together cement and the plants that live around it, wondering about the forced relationship the urban environment creates. While thinking: can man and nature coexist, I gathered branches and leaves around my studio, later mixing them with cement and creating small-scale sculptures.
As I watched the plants dehydrate and the cement grow stronger, I photographed them in a so called neutral environment. What Once Grew was born out of observing the struggle plants meet in urban spaces. It was developed as part of my Fest'Factory residency during 2017 and shown in the Bat Yam International Festival of Street Theatre and Art.
